🌸 The BALM of Her Story

Stories That Soothe, Strengthen, and Shape Us

Motherhood takes many forms. Some women raise children in their homes. Others nurture hearts in their churches, workplaces, and communities. Some mother through prayer, through encouragement, through wisdom, or through simple acts of faithfulness that no one else sees.

This series is for all of them.

In the pages of Scripture, tucked between famous names and well‑known stories, are mothers whose lives were marked by quiet courage, fierce love, and unwavering trust in God. Many of them are unnamed. Many lived in obscurity. Many faced heartbreak, loss, or impossible circumstances. Yet God saw them. God moved toward them. God worked through them. And their stories still speak today.

Over the next seven lessons, we will sit with these lesser‑celebrated mothers of the Bible — widows, foreigners, disciples, and women whose faith shaped nations and generations. We will hear their stories the way a mother might tell them to her children: with tenderness, honesty, and hope. And we will discover that spiritual motherhood is not defined by biology, but by faith, obedience, and the willingness to make room for God.

From the widow who baked her last loaf of bread, to the mother who built a room for a prophet, to the Canaanite woman who refused to give up, to the grieving widow Jesus could not walk past — each of these women reveals a different facet of God’s heart for His daughters.

And finally, we will end with the mother behind Proverbs 31 — a woman whose voice shaped a king and whose wisdom still shapes us today.

Whether you are a birth mom, adoptive mom, spiritual mom, mentor, auntie, teacher, or simply a woman who loves others well, this series is for you. May these stories remind you that God sees you, God hears you, and God delights in using ordinary women to accomplish extraordinary things.
